Innovation and application of technology in different fields of sport moves by leaps in the hands of the industry, and appears next to arrive will be the smart clothes. Innovations ahead in textile field?
Pulse Oximeters integrated into t-shirts, connection via Bluetooth with the phone, bioceramics, nanotechnology… New proposals that promise to make us easier training, correcting our movements and postures, quantifying our achievements and our activity monitoring. You can already access the smart sportswear.
- Clothing cuantificadora: recently I talked with the CAP with integrated heart rate monitor, a solution to the uncomfortable chest strap of the traditional computer. A more comprehensive project is Athos, which you can see in the video of the header. Only need a piece of clothing Athos (have available t-shirts and pants) in which we will place a sensor. This sensor is able to quantify all of our training: measurement of heart rate, muscle fatigue, overtraining and helps and every muscle activation. Everything goes straight to our smartphone, where you can access the information.
- Bioceramic applied to textile: could we improve our performance through a piece of clothing? This is what is pursued through the inclusion of bioceramics in textile fibers. Ekatom has already sold t-shirts, socks and pants that improve the oxygenation of tissues, promoting blood circulation and making more efficient thermoregulation. - Nanotechnology applied to textile: in many of the major brands of sportswear collections we can already find garments fabrics adapted for each situation. Dry-Fit and Play-Dry they are two of the innovations that we can already make use on many garments: this type of tissue evacuate sweat and allow us to keep us cool during training, even in conditions of high heat. Soon expected that this type of technology will make that the garment fits to the temperature and humidity of the environment, thus achieving better performance.
